Holy Cross rolls over Bucknell 34-9

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Ryan Taggart rushed for two touchdowns and Holy Cross beat Bucknell 34-9 on Saturday.

The Crusaders (6-5, 3-2 Patriot League) finished the season with two straight wins.

Alex Eckerd gave Bucknell (1-10, 1-4) a 3-0 lead in the second quarter with a 19-yard field goal, but Holy Cross answered with 34 straight points. Holy Cross led 17-3 at halftime after a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Mike Fess and a 1-yard touchdown run by Taggart.

Taggart, who completed 13 of 27 passes for 154 yards, also scored in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard run. Freddie Santana caught six passes for 118 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown from Bill Edger.

Bucknell, which ended the season on a five-game losing streak, was kept out of the end zone until the fourth quarter when Gabe Skwara scored on an 8-yard pass from Brandon Wesley.
