Former Michigan star Rob Lytle dies at 56

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Former Michigan football star Rob Lytle has died. He was 56.

A spokeswoman at Memorial Hospital in Freemont, Ohio, said Sunday that Lytle died of a heart attack Saturday night. He had been taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The All-American running back was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round in 1977.

Lytle scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl as a rookie in a 27-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He scored 14 times in seven regular seasons with the Broncos.
