CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Baltimore Ravens will be without starting right guard Chris Chester against Carolina because of a skin infection.
Chester missed practice Friday and was hospitalized with the condition. The Ravens on Saturday promoted guard Bryan Mattison from the practice squad and waived tackle Scott Kooistra to add depth.
Tony Moll will start for Chester on Sunday.
The Panthers had already declared six players out because of injury, so defensive tackle Ed Johnson was the lone healthy scratch. Johnson had been a starter earlier this season.
Brian St. Pierre is starting at quarterback for Carolina, which is without its top three running backs and two starting offensive linemen.
