MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Rob Jones had career highs of 21 points and 11 rebounds, Mickey McConnell scored 19 points and Saint Mary’s held Chicago State without a basket for nearly 12 minutes on the way to a 121-52 win in the South Padre Island Classic on Tuesday.

Jones did most of his damage in the first half when the Gaels (5-0) built a 33-point lead. He finished going 6 of 10 from the floor and was one of six Saint Mary’s players in double figures.

Tim Williams added 15 points for the Gaels, who set a school record for scoring while matching their second-best start ever.

The 121 points are also the most by a Division I team this season, topping the 118 scored by Washington against McNeese State on Nov. 13.

Hajji Martin led Chicago State (1-4) with 13 points and six rebounds.
