Defending champion Saints up next for Cowboys

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys were 1-7 under Wade Phillips and have won two straight since he was fired.

Same players with a new coach in Jason Garrett. He says he’s just giving them some new tools to help them improve.

The workday starts earlier. Everyone must hustle from drill to drill on the practice field. Rules are clearly defined, as are the punishments. They’re enforced, too.

All sorts of sayings are used to build a certain mindset. They aren’t new, but they’re new to this team. And the Cowboys finally look like the Super Bowl contenders they were billed to be, just in time to face the defending champion Saints on Thursday.
