PARIS (AP) — Track and field’s governing body has unveiled the calendar for the second Diamond League season, with the opening meet set for May 6 in Doha.
Like this year, the Diamond League will feature a series of 14 international meets across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
The Diamond League replaced the Europe-based, six-meet Golden League this year. The 2011 season will end in Brussels on Sep. 16.
IAAF also confirmed Tuesday that the Gateshead meet in England on July 10 will be moved south to Birmingham.
