LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Happy Week took the lead shortly after the start and drew away in the stretch to win the $64,381 Undermine Purse by three-quarters of a length at Churchill Downs on Wednesday.
The winner, ridden by Garrett Gomez, covered the mile in 1:37.42 and paid $3.80, $2.20 and $2.10 as the favorite in the field of six fillies and mares.
Lady’s Laughter returned $4 and $2.60, while Isidora finished two lengths back and paid $2.20.
Happy Week, owned by Wertheimer and Frere, earned $39,636 to increase the 3-year-old’s career total to $170,091.
