WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Ty Walker had a school-record 11 blocks and J.T. Terrell and Travis McKie scored 16 points each as Wake Forest beat Marist 81-59 on Tuesday night in the consolation round of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Ari Stewart added 14 points, Gary Clark had 12 and C.J. Harris 11 for the Demon Deacons (3-3), who overcame poor shooting from the field by hitting 34 of 44 from the free-throw line.

Walker’s 11 blocks broke the 14-year-old record set by Tim Duncan on Jan. 13, 1996. The 7-foot junior tied Duncan’s mark with 5:59 remaining in the second half, and broke it a minute later when he tipped away Rob Johnson’s layup attempt.

Anell Alexis had 10 points for the Red Foxes (0-5), who led three times in the first half but struggled with their shooting. Marist trailed by as many as 25 points in the second half.
