TOWSON, Md. (AP) — J.J. Avila scored 31 points and Navy defeated Towson 89-84 on Tuesday night.
The Midshipmen (2-5), who snapped a three-game losing skid, outscored the Tigers 52-36 in the first half.
Navy made 20 of 33 field goals (60.6 percent), including 8 of 10 from long range (80 percent) before halftime. The Midshipmen led by as many as 22 in the first half.
The second half was a different story for Navy’s shooting accuracy as it was just 7 of 27 from the field (25.9 percent).
