SEATTLE (AP) — Burlington Northern Santa Fe says a woman has been struck and killed by an Amtrak train in northwest Seattle.

Railroad spokesman Gus Melonas says the accident happened at about 2 p.m. Thursday where the tracks run alongside Puget Sound below the Blue Ridge neighborhood. He says Amtrak, BNSF and Seattle police are investigating.

The name of the victim is not immediately available. Melonas says it is the 19th death of a trespasser on BNSF tracks in Washington this year.
