Forget Black Friday. How about “Bark Saturday?”

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington is gearing up for its own post-Thanksgiving holiday shopping event.

The agency’s dog and cat adoption fees have been reduced to their lowest amounts this year and for the first time ever.

The shelter will even have its own doorbuster event on Saturday, opening at 10 a.m. instead of the usual noon. All retail items will be discounted 30 percent during those two hours.

Adoptions and animal care staff will be ready to assist patrons taking advantage of the additional animal viewing hours.

The Humane Society is at 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave. in east Vancouver, and is usually open for adoption from noon to 5:30 p.m. during the week and from noon to 4:30 p.m. on weekends.
