Mangano has double-double, Yale beats Army 87-79

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Greg Mangano scored 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Yale over Army 87-79 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (2-3) scored 32 points in the paint, contributing to a 54.3 shooting percentage (25 of 46).

Peter Braswell added 16, Austin Morgan 13 and Rhett Anderson and Reggie Willhite chipped in 12 each for Yale.

The Bulldogs trailed 72-69 with 6:19 left before scoring nine straight over 3:31. Willhite gave Yale a 78-72 lead on two free throws with 2:30 to play.

Yale trailed 26-17 midway through the first half before a 12-4 run gave the Bulldogs a 35-30 lead with 4:25 to go until halftime.

Julian Simmons scored 28 points for the Black Knights (4-2), whose three-game winning streak ended.

Simmons and Jason Pancoe, who finished with 16 points, made four 3s each as Army set a school record with 14 3-pointers (14 of 25).
