MONROE, La (AP) — Chris Masson threw for 330 yards and two touchdowns as Louisiana-Lafayette blocked an extra point late to hold off Louisiana-Monroe in a 23-22 victory on Saturday.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (3-9, 3-5 Sun Belt Conference) took a 23-13 lead when Masson connected with Ladarius Green for a 5-yard touchdown with 35 seconds left in the third quarter.

Green finished with six catches for 120 yards for Louisiana-Lafayette. Masson also threw a 73-yard touchdown to Aaron Spikes in the second quarter.

Louisiana-Monroe attempted a rally by cutting the lead to one after a 28-yard field goal by Radi Jabour early in the fourth quarter and Kolton Browning’s 10-yard touchdown run with 4:55 left to play. But Jabour’s extra point was blocked by Cooper Gerami.

The Warhawks (5-7, 4-4) got the ball back but Browning’s four pass attempts fell incomplete to preserve Louisiana-Lafayette’s win.
