CINCINNATI (AP) — Even when the Cincinnati Bengals are really bad, they find ways to ruin someone else’s season in December.
The Bengals (2-9) have dropped eight in a row, the sixth time in the last 20 years that they’ve put together a half-season worth of losses. They have only two winning records during that 20-year span, one of the worst stretches of futility in league history.
Cincinnati, though, does have a habit of starting horribly and finishing decently. Since 1991, the Bengals are 41-108 in August, September and October. The record in December and January regular-season games, however, is 38-45. Up next is New Orleans (8-3), which is a game behind Atlanta in the NFC South.
