EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Springfield authorities have arrested a 28-year-old man in the death of an 18-year-old woman.

Police say officers found Allison Rachael Archibald with “obvious trauma to her body” early Sunday after a passer-by reported a dispute between a man and a woman on a Fairview Drive sidewalk.

The Register-Guard says Archibald was unresponsive to efforts to revive her. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Springfield emergency medics.

Robert Darnell Boyd was later arrested and charged with murder. He was being held at Lane County Jail.
