ALLYN, Wash. (AP) — Mason County authorities have arrested a man they sought after a sheriff’s deputy was shot and wounded near Allyn.

KIRO-TV reports the gunman was found in a creek in a nearby wooded area.

Chief Deputy Dean Byrd says the deputy was shot after a pursuit Friday on Highway 3.

Mason County Sheriff Casey Salisbury says the deputy was shot in the shin, probably from a ricochet from a shot fired by one of the deputies who fired at a driver who refused to stop and was driving toward officers.

The deputy does not have life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mason General Hospital.

The North Mason School District put schools and other buildings under lockdown during the manhunt.
