RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks placed linebacker Leroy Hill on injured reserve Friday, ending his season.
Hill played in one game for the Seahawks this season, only appearing on special teams in a Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Hill injured his right Achilles’ tendon early in the game and did not return. Pete Carroll said Friday that Hill will require surgery.
After a tumultuous offseason, Hill agreed to a restructured contract that took the final four years off the deal he signed before the 2009 season and made him a free agent after this season. Hill was suspended for the team’s season opener for a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy following his arrest in Georgia on a marijuana possession charge.
