WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Army will face a stiff test in trying to build on its best start in 14 years when resurgent Temple visits Michie Stadium on Saturday.

The Black Knights (3-1) are coming off a victory over Duke, while the Owls (3-1) lost 22-13 at No. 22 Penn State, but have won 12 of their last 15 games under Al Golden.

After being outscored 154-9 in its four previous games against the Nittany Lions, Temple allowed only one touchdown and took a 13-6 lead on Bernard Pierce’s two first-quarter scoring runs.

Pierce had to be helped off the field in the third quarter with an apparent ankle injury and will be a game-time decision Saturday.

Army’s victory ended a 17-game road losing streak against ACC teams. The Black Knights forced five turnovers and rank third in the nation in turnover margin at plus-2.25.
