The Storm never really slowed down the passing attack of the Cardinals from Portland, but the Storm offense took over in the second half at Kiggins Bowl.

Skyview’s Parker Henry had 2 yards rushing at halftime and finished with 136. His strong runs helped wear down the visitors after Lincoln’s offense controlled play in the first half.

Junior Skyview quarterback Kieran McDonagh, playing for the injured Kody Watts, completed 19 of 23 passes for 310 yards. Senior receiver Karl Graves had eight catches for 195 yards and three touchdowns.

Skyview scored 42 points in the second half. The big momentum swing came in the final minute of the third quarter, when the Storm scored two touchdowns helped by an onside kick.

After hardly possessing the ball in the first half, the Storm owned it in the second half as the Cardinals — playing a number of players both ways — wore down.

In the first half, Lincoln’s receivers found plenty of room to roam, much of it in the middle of the Storm defense.

In the first half, Lincoln rolled up 19 first downs and 347 yards of offense, 276 of that through the air.

The Cardinals scored three second-quarter touchdowns on drives of 90, 78 and 74 yards. The third was a five-play quick strike that included consecutive pass plays of 34 and 32 yards.

The Storm’s first-half touchdown came on a nifty catch and run by Karl Graves that covered 59 yards and briefly gave Skyview a 7-6 lead.
