Wofford dominates Furman 38-17

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Eric Breitenstein ran for 230 yards and four touchdowns to lead Furman to a 38-17 win over Wofford on Saturday.

Breitenstein, a fullback who finished with 29 carries, scored on runs of 4 and 3 yards in the first half to help the Terriers (3-1, 1-0 Southern Conference) claim a 17-10 halftime lead. He also scored on runs of 26 and 4 yards in the fourth quarter.

Mitch Allen ran for 121 yards on 24 attempts for Wofford. The combination of Breitenstein and Allen helped the Terriers gain 400 yards total on the ground against the Paladins (2-2, 1-1), who gave up the most rushing yards since 2005.

Allen also threw for 52 yards and one touchdown for Wofford.

Furman’s Cody Worley completed 19 of 34 passes for 204 yards and threw one touchdown, but had three interceptions. Worley’s lone touchdown pass went to Adam Mims, who caught 10 passes for 122 yards.
