Liberty routs Savannah State 52-14

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Chris Summers caught three touchdown passes and Liberty defeated Savannah State 52-14 on Saturday night.

Summers had 132 yards on eight catches to help snap a two-game losing streak.

Mike Brown completed 14 of 19 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns, and added another score and 54 yards on six carries for the Flames (3-2). SirChauncey Holloway ran for 140 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries for Liberty.

Savannah State (0-5) pulled within 14-7 with 5:10 left in the first quarter, but the Flames scored 24 straight beginning just 43 seconds later. A 30-yard touchdown pass from Brown to Summers put Liberty ahead 21-7 shortly before halftime.

The Tigers were led by Brian Lackey with 104 yards and a touchdown on five catches. Antonio Bostick, who was sacked four times, had 187 yards and a touchdown on 13-for-25 passing for Savannah State.
