EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The Snohomish County sheriff’s office says nine people have been hurt in a seven-car accident in south Everett.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover says those injured in the Tuesday evening accident were taken to a hospital for treatment, but none appears to have life-threatening injuries.

She says the accident occurred about 6 p.m. when a vehicle struck several other vehicles, causing a chain reaction. Investigators don’t yet know why the first vehicle struck the others.
