MERCER ISLAND, Wash. (AP) — Two 17-year-old boys have been arrested after a rash of graffiti vandalism in the Seattle suburb of Mercer Island, including swastikas scrawled on a Jewish school.

The two were arrested Wednesday and an 18-year-old man remains at large. Detective Peter Erickson tells The Seattle Times that officers acting on tips searched three homes and found graffiti that appears to match that at vandalized sites. They also found markers and cans of paint.

On Sept. 14, an elementary school was tagged with swastikas and anti-Semitic statements, and three days later similar graffiti was found at a Catholic church and at Northwest Yeshiva High School.

The two boys have been booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center for investigation of harassment, malicious mischief and second-degree burglary.
