The Bottelberghe sisters have combined powers with the Anderson sisters to create one solid relay team for the Columbia River Chieftains.

Jessica Bottelberghe, a senior, Alex Anderson, a junior, along with freshmen Monica Bottelberghe and Melanie Anderson have the best time in all of Class 3A teams in the state this season in the 400 freestyle relay.

“I feel accomplished,” Melanie said, with a smile.

“We’ve been swimming for about 10 year,” Alex said. “It’s pretty cool having my sister on my relay team, especially since we get along so well.”

The double-sister show finished in 3 minutes, 42.69 seconds in a meet in September. That’s more than two seconds faster than the second best time, set by Mercer Island.
