WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — Police have arrested a suspect in the slaying of a 17-year-old student from Wenatchee.

The task force investigating the February knifing of Mackenzie Cowell says officers arrested Christopher Scott Wilson on Wednesday in Wenatchee.

The 29-year-old Wenatchee man was a student with Cowell at a Wenatchee beauty school.

Investigators say he was linked to the case by DNA found on duct tape from where Cowell’s body was found along the Columbia River.

Wilson has been jailed in the Chelan County Regional Justice Center for investigation of murder.
