Hungry people. Weedy gardens. Infirm elderly. Polluted streams. Look around Clark County, and you’ll see plenty of need. On Oct. 23, you can join your neighbors and help fill it.

It’s the 18th annual Make A Difference Day, and the Volunteer Center has lined up several projects with which you can help. There’s tree planting with the Vancouver Watersheds Council, harvesting crops for the Clark County Food Bank, preparing community gardens for winter and doing chores for folks who can’t get them done on their own.

For more on Make A Difference Day and how you can help, contact Volunteer Connections at 360-735-3683 or volunteerconnections@hsc-wa.org. Or just sign up online at http://daytabank.handsonnetwork.org.

Volunteer Connections is a program of the Human Services Council, which serves the five-county Southwest Washington region.
