MONTEZUMA, Iowa (AP) — The Iowa State Patrol says a bicyclist from Oregon died in a collision with a truck near the city of Montezuma in central Iowa.

The Des Moines Register reports that 33-year-old Jason Lee Morris of Albany, Ore., died in the Wednesday accident. According to the Iowa patrol, Morris was pedaling on Iowa Highway 85 when the truck driver spotted the cyclist and moved to the center line to give more room.

Officials say the truck’s front right tire failed, causing the truck to move hard to the right, hitting Morris. The truck went into a ditch and rolled over.

Montezuma is about 60 miles east of Des Moines.
