NEWBERG, Ore. — A 62 year old transient was arrested Wednesday morning for his second driving under the influence of intoxicants charge in 13 hours. James Arthur Lingren was arrested by the Newberg- Dundee Police Department at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday evening, and then again by a Yamhill County Sheriff’s Deputy at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.

According to Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree, Lingren admitted to drinking two beers after being cited to appear in court and released by the Newberg-Dundee Officer. “The Newberg Officer followed all protocols when Lingren was released” said Crabtree, “Unfortunately, he did not know that Mr. Lingren planned to continue drinking after his release and was determined to drive again”. Lingren was found driving in McMinnville, and arrested on Highway 99W near Riverside Drive.

Lingren was lodged in the Yamhill County Jail, and will be arraigned on Thursday.
