PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Kevin Kolb will start for the injured Michael Vick when the Philadelphia Eagles visit San Francisco on Sunday.

Eagles coach Andy Reid has ruled Vick out for the game against the 49ers because of a rib cartilage injury. Vick was hurt in the first quarter of Philadelphia’s loss last Sunday to Washington.

Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel and wide receiver Riley Cooper also will sit out because of concussions. But running back LeSean McCoy is expected to play despite a broken rib.

Vick, the NFC offensive player of the month in September, didn’t practice this week. Reid waited until Friday to announce that Kolb will be the starter.
