PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. (AP) — The first sailing of a new ferry on the Port Townsend-Coupeville route has been postponed until next month.

Ferry system spokeswoman Marta Coursey told The Peninsula Daily News crew trials for the Chetzemoka (chet-za-moh-kah) will extend to mid-November, and a leased vessel will continue to fill in.

Officials originally expected the new ferry would be ready for service in August.
