PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Three men who have pleaded guilty to burglarizing a Troutdale, Oregon, house have apologized to the 12-year-old girl who was home at the time.

The Oregonian says the three told Mackenzie Hughes they were sorry at their sentencing Friday. When the burglary occurred the afternoon of May 24, she hid under a blanket and whispered information to a 911 dispatcher for more than 8 minutes, which allowed police to catch the trio. She’s been widely praised for her bravery.

Multnomah County Judge Kenneth Walker sentenced one of the men to six months in jail because he cooperated with police. The other two, both illegal immigrants from Honduras, were sentenced to 16 months with the possibility of being deported afterward.
