Brackett leads Columbia past Lafayette 42-28

NEW YORK (AP) — Sean Brackett had three touchdowns passing and another rushing to help lead Columbia past Lafayette 42-28 on Saturday.

Brackett had 105 yards on 18 carries, and another 179 by completing 15 of 20 passes in the Lions’ third straight win.

Columbia (3-1) took a 14-10 lead on Alex Gross’ 69-yard interception return for a touchdown early in the second quarter. The Leopards (0-5) then responded on a 24-yard touchdown pass from Ryan O’Neil to Jerome Rudolph to regain the lead.

Columbia, however, scored on a 7-yard pass from Brackett to Zach Kourouma and a 29-yard pass from Brackett to Andrew Kennedy to take the lead for good.

Kourouma finished with 52 yards on three catches. Gross was the Lions’ defensive leader with 11 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.

O’Neil was 18-for-24 passing with an interception, 248 yards and two touchdowns.
