Morgan State handles North Carolina A&T 27-14

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Redshirt freshman quarterback Delonte Williams ran for three touchdowns in his first career start to lead Morgan State past North Carolina A&T 27-14 in MEAC play on Saturday.

Williams scored on touchdown runs of 17 and 10 yards in the opening quarter to put the Bears (3-3, 2-1) in front 12-0 after a missed extra point and failed two-point conversion attempt.

Shelton Morgan threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Devon Stewart early in the second quarter to pull the Aggies (0-6, 0-3) to within five points, 12-7.

On the Bears’ next possession, Williams scored on a 1-yard run to extend the Morgan State lead to 19-7.

Justin Ferrell ran back the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, cutting the Aggies’ deficit to 19-14 with 7:27 remaining before halftime.

Morgan State then scored on a 1-yard touchdown run by Jephte Cherenfant with 40 seconds left in the second quarter.
