Smiling Tiger wins at Hollywood Park

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Smiling Tiger held off Supreme Summit by a half-length Saturday in the $245,000 Ancient Title Stakes at Hollywood Park.

Under Russell Baze, Smiling Tiger ran 6 furlongs in 1:09.37.

The yearling returned $9.20, $5.20 and $3. Supreme Summit, who rallied from last, paid $4.80 and $2.80. The show price on E Z’s Gentleman, the 2-1 favorite, was $2.60.

Earlier, Liberian Freighter beat Colgan’s Chip by a nose in the $150,000 Oak Tree Mile.

Ridden by Martin Garcia, Liberian Freighter ran the mile in 1:33.24 and returned $46.40, $15.40 and $6.60. Colgan’s Chip paid $8 and $5. The show price on Tropic Storm was $3.80.
