WASHINGTON (AP) — Keith Davis returned an interception for an 80-yard touchdown in the second overtime to lift Wagner past Georgetown, 22-16 on Saturday.
The Seahawks (3-2) trailed 13-3 entering the fourth quarter. They made up the difference as Justin Matthews caught a 15 yard touchdown pass from Nick Doscher with 2:57 on the clock and David Lopez hit a career-long 54-yard field goal with 6 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.
Lopez and Georgetown’s Brett Weiss each kicked field goals in the first overtime period, before Scott Darby’s pass was intercepted by Davis at the Wagner 20-yard line and returned for the game-winner.
The victory was the first by the Seahawks, of the Northeast Conference, over a Patriot League team, having lost twice to Lafayette and once to Georgetown.
The Hoyas (3-3) intercepted Wagner four times. Jayah Kaisamba had two interceptions.
