Eastern Kentucky beats Eastern Illinois 35-7

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — T.J. Pryor rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another score to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 35-7 win over Eastern Illinois on Saturday night.

Pryor scored on runs of 6, 2 and 30 yards in the first half to give the Colonels (2-3, 1-0 Ohio Valley Conference) a 21-0 lead. The quarterback finished with 78 yards rushing on 11 carries.

Pryor completed 9 of 20 passes for 85 yards for Eastern Kentucky.

The Panthers (0-6, 0-4) scored their first points in the second quarter when Jimmy Garoppolo connected with Lorence Ricks on a 29-yard touchdown.

Bruce Frieson had second-half scores with a 15-yard touchdown run and a 13-yard touchdown catch for the Colonels.

Garoppolo led Eastern Illinois with 272 yards passing but was sacked six times and intercepted twice. Kenny Whittaker caught eight passes for 102 yards.
