• Denise Smith has been named executive director of Leadership Clark County. Smith comes from the environmental nonprofit SOLV, where she served as business relations and marketing manager. Leadership Clark County’s mission is to develop effective leaders to serve Clark County.

• Clark County’s Habitat for Humanity ReStore has named Kathleen Bulloch as the company’s community outreach coordinator. Bulloch will meet with local businesses to educate them about the types of materials they can donate, as well as attend and speak at local community, civic and government association events, fairs and various workshops. Most recently she was an in-house marketing and public relations consultant for ContacEZ.com, a dental supply company.

• Educational Opportunities for Children and Families has elected Monica Painton to serve on its board of directors. Painton is a CPA employed at Maul Foster & Alongi Inc. EOCF has been a nonprofit provider of early learning and child development education in Clark County for more than 40 years.

n Sharma Johnson of Vancouver has been named a local exchange coordinator with the International Au Pair Exchange team, a program recently launched by the U.S. State Department to screen au pairs between the ages of 18 and 26 from foreign countries with qualified host families in Washington, Oregon and California. Au pairs from the U.S.. can also be placed with host families abroad. Johnson, a former au pair, will provide support to both au pairs and host families. http://www.tiape.org, 360-483-4594.

• Kim Hash has been named development director of the Vancouver-based Children’s Center, which provides mental health services to Clark County children and families, including specialized outpatient mental health counseling and psychiatric services for children and adolescents. Hash served for 11 years as director of programs for the Fort Vancouver National Trust.

Other business news

• The School of Piano Technology for the Blind, also known as the Piano Hospital, has been named a School of Distinction by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. The recognition will occur Oct. 25 at the ACCSC Professional Development conference in Philadelphia. The school completed a reaccreditation process in June and earned a five-year reaccreditation. The school is a private, nonprofit, accredited vocational school providing specialized training in piano technology to blind and visually impaired individuals.

• GeroMedical Psychological Services, a company focused on providing quality psychological care of older adults and those suffering with acute and chronic medical illness, has moved to a new location with more space. The new location is in the H.H. Hall Building, 10000 N.E. Seventh Ave., Suite 215. The company also has a revitalized logo, color scheme and Web design.

• The Vancouver Clinic Breast Care Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. By awarding facilities the status of a center of excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound.
