PRINEVILLE, Ore. (AP) — The Bureau of Land Management’s Prineville office plans several controlled burns this week, weather permitting.

The agency says it plans to burn about 45 acres in two fields Tuesday and Wednesday near Clarno to create areas of green-up to serve as feed for elk and deer.

The BLM plans to burn 166-acres near La Pine State Park Thursday to reduce brush and improve the health of ponderosa pine stands.
