Projects scheduled for Make a Difference Day

The city of Battle Ground is partnering with community organizations and businesses to offer two community projects for Make a Difference Day.

The Central Park Spruce Up and StreamTeam Tree Planting will take place Oct. 23.

Beginning at 9 a.m., citizens can join Battle Ground High School’s Interact Club to spruce up Central Park, 414 E. Main St. Battle Ground Rockery donated bark dust, and North Fork Landscape donated plants for the project.

Participants are asked to bring gardening tools, shovels and gloves.

Clark Public Utilities StreamTeam is also inviting citizens to plant trees to enhance salmon habitat. The tree planting is from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is required.
