WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — Wenatchee police say a seven-week investigation discovered that a Chelan County jail guard was taking bribes in return for favors and allowing contraband food and tobacco inside.

Police also said Wednesday that Charles “Chuck” B. Storlie had released an inmate early, without authorization.

The 30-year-old was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Grant County Jail in Ephrata for investigation of bribery, forgery, escape, contraband and misconduct charges.

Storlie is a longtime employee of the Regional Justice Center in Wenatchee who worked the overnight shift in the jail annex.
