VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — The father of a pregnant Vancouver woman who was shot by her brother says she lost the baby she was carrying

Angela Pyle was five months pregnant. She’s recovering as Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver.

Anthony Pyle also shot a sheriff’s deputy who responded to the scene Tuesday night but he was protected by his bulletproof vest and not injured. Anthony Pyle later took his own life.

The father, Ted Pyle, told KATU-TV his children had a long-standing rivalry. Angela Pyle moved back to her mother’s home last year after her death. Anthony Pyle lived there in a remodeled garage.

Ted Pyle said the shooting was the result of a dispute the two had over their mother’s estate.
