Pledge clarification: State Rep. Jaime Herrera, the Republican candidate for the 3rd Congressional District seat, signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, sponsored by the organization Americans for Tax Reform, which commits her to opposing “any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rate for individuals and business” and “any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates.” A story on Page A1 Thursday misidentified the pledge referred to by Denny Heck, Herrera’s Democratic opponent, during a debate in Longview on Wednesday.
