South Dakota State beats Southern Illinois 31-10

CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) — Kyle Minett rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns and South Dakota State beat Southern Illinois 31-10 Saturday.

South Dakota (2-4, 2-2 Missouri Valley) finished with 194 yards rushing to Southern Illinois’ 152 yards, but the Salukis (3-4, 2-2) led in the air with 181 passing yards to South Dakota’s 103 yards.

Cole Brodie gave the Jackrabbits their first score on an 87-yard interception return in the second quarter. Thomas O’Brien added a TD pass to Aaron Rollin.

Kyle Minett ran for two touchdowns and Peter Reifenrath kicked a field goal.

Kyle Dougherty kicked a field goal for Southern Illinois with :28 left in the first half. Chris Dieker also threw a TD pass to Joe Allaria, and finished with 141 passing yards.
