FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas says star quarterback Ryan Mallett suffered a concussion during the Razorbacks’ loss at Auburn.

The university released a two-sentence statement from team athletic trainer Matt Summers on Sunday confirming Mallett’s injury. The statement says that Mallett’s “symptoms are improving” and that “we will continue to evaluate him.”

Mallett left the game Saturday in the first half after taking a blow to the head. Tyler Wilson replaced him at quarterback for Arkansas, but Auburn went on to win, 65-43.

Mallett has passed for 1,844 yards and 14 touchdowns this season.
