VANCOUVER — The Clark County League of Women Voters is hosting a general election forum 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Clark County Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.

The forum will be in the sixth-floor meeting room.

Democrat Denny Heck, who is running against Republican Jaime Herrera to replace U.S. Rep Brian Baird, has confirmed he will appear but Herrera has a prior commitment and will not attend, said organizer Jane Van Dyke.

Local candidates who have been invited are: Tony Golik and Brent Boger, who are running for Clark County prosecutor; Sheriff Garry Lucas and challenger Timothy Shotwell; Public Utilities Commissioner Nancy Barnes and challenger Mike Lyon; Vancouver City Councilman Bart Hansen and challenger John Jenkins.

Other local candidates attended a forum at Fort Vancouver Regional Library on Oct. 13.

The election is Nov. 2.
