EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Detroit Lions quarterback Shaun Hill left the game against the New York Giants late in the first half with an injured hand.

The team did not say which hand he hurt, but it appeared to be his throwing hand.

Hill was hit by Giants defensive tackle Barry Cofield on an incomplete pass to Kevin Smith. He immediately left the field and was replaced by Drew Stanton, who started the second half. Hill was not on the bench.

Matthew Stafford is the Lions’ third quarterback for the game.
