More long delays at Mukilteo-Clinton ferry route

SEATTLE (AP) — Long delays are expected to continue at the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry route Sunday as crews try to get a ferry back up and running from mechanical issues.

Washington state ferries spokeswoman Susan Harris says the vessel “Kittitas” has not been repaired yet from propulsion problems that started Saturday, forcing the popular route to only be serviced by one boat.

Harris says that on Saturday riders experienced waits of up three hours. She recommends that if riders have a choice, they should not travel that route on Sunday.

Harris adds the ferry system is trying to bring a smaller boat to alleviate the passenger loads by Sunday afternoon.
