SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — LaQuintin Caston ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more, as well as the winning 2-point conversion play in the fourth overtime, as Nicholls State got by Texas State 47-45 Saturday night.

The Colonels scored on Caston’s 2-yard toss to Joshua Warren to tie the game at 45-45, then Caston hit Chucky Nichols for the winning points.

The Bobcats had scored first in the fourth extra period on Dexter Imade’s 1-yard run, but a pass on the 2-point try was incomplete, forcing Texas State to settle for a six-point lead.

Caston led Nicholls State (2-4, 1-1 Southland) with 112 rushing yards, and Bobby Felder returned a blocked field goal 70 yards for a score.

Tyler Arndt threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns and Da’Marcus Griggs caught 11 passes for 205 yards for Texas State (3-3, 0-2).
