NEW YORK (AP) — Sandy Alderson will meet with New York Mets executives for the second time.
The former Oakland Athletics president and San Diego Padres CEO met with Mets officials last week. He is to tour Citi Field on Thursday and complete his interview with chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon, assistant general manager John Ricco and others.
The Mets said Monday that Alderson is not yet scheduled to meet with owner Fred Wilpon or team president Saul Katz.
New York is looking for a successor to GM Omar Minaya. He was fired along with manager Jerry Manuel after a second straight losing season.
In addition, the Mets received permission from Toronto to interview Dana Brown, special assistant to Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos.
