COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — The Danish club AaB Aalborg says American forward Marcus Tracy will miss the rest of the year because of injuries to both knees.
Tracy has returned to the United States to undergo treatment for a condition called “jumper’s knee,” AaB sporting director Lynge Jakobsen said Tuesday. Jakobsen says he expects Tracy to be back training with the team again in January.
He told The Associated Press the injury “could be tricky” but hoped Tracy could play when the Danish Super League resumes in March.
The 24-year-old from Chestnut Hill, Pa., won the 2008 Hermann Trophy at Wake Forest and has two goals in 21 games for AaB since joining the club in 2009. He has not played with AaB since last Dec. 5 against Sonderjyske.
Tracy was called into U.S. national team training camp in January ahead of an exhibition against Honduras but missed the match because of his injury. He has not played for the U.S. national team.
